29th November 2010.
Can't believe its nearly the end of the month, let alone the year! Seeing lights and decorations everywhere! It's here again! Not at all organised! In two days time, I will be making toffee and toffee apples for the first of the Christmas Markets here in Faversham, held on Sunday 5th.
Wednesday 19th January 2011.
Have a wonderful year everyone! On a personal note, went to Weight Watchers today! I stayed the same! Not too unhappy with that!
I have done 2 Services to date, this year. The first In London, North Finchley, on Saturday 6th January. It was a Special Service, I 'read' photographs of Spirit people, and also some Ribbons, because Finchley 'forgot' to tell people it was a Special for photos! Nevertheless, it seemed to go well, the first message was accepted on behalf of someone who was not present, but Spirit seemed to get the message across to him! I have since had a message from him via Facebook acknowledging MOST of the information given!!
The next Service was at Sheerness, the next day, a Divine Service, you know I love the Philosophy/address! I am always very happy proving survival, I guess the Messages are the Jewel in the Crown for most people, but I have a soft spot for the Teaching, and I also feel it is vital, so we can lay the stepping stones of our belief systems. Unfortunately only 14 people there, but at least I knew we helped at least one person, which is what Chang says...'If you can help just one person, make one person think, then you have done your job'....
Work at 'Del Artie', the shop where I do Private Sittings every Tuesday and Fridays, in Faversham Kent, at 6 Market Place, right in the Centre of town, has picked up after Christmas, and I am getting enough work to see me through the day! I like to be busy!! I also love to go, the Staff are lovely, and the clothes to die for!! All the colours of the Rainbow, and even better it is all Fair Trade, there you are! I have given it a plug but it really is fabulous. See if you can pop in if ever you happen to be in Faversham! I will keep you abreast of details, for Adele the owner, puts on a lovely fashion show locally now and again!
On Sunday this week, I am in Ashford. Albert Road, doing the Divine Service at 6.30.......
I am SO looking forward to being in my garden again! Lots to do! Today I am putting sweet peas, lavender, and one or two other things in my propagator! Please indulge me! I am very much into gardening too!.....
Saturday, January 22nd January.
Took the Divine Service at Albert Road Christian Spiritualist Church, Ashford, Kent. It was my first time there. Everyone was very welcoming. Sadly only 20 today, and apparently no new faces at all. Something is happening to our Churches! I really feel they are in need of a fresh eye, so many reluctant to change with the times!
Sunday January 22nd.
Two Churches booked in for 2012 today. Canterbury and Dartford. Keep 'em coming!!
Tuesday January 24th.
Worked in 'Del Artie' today doing Readings, two ladies came along, and both were experiencing alot of mental pain, but both working their issues through. I found them very brave, and quite inspiring. They were Readings 'with a difference'! I think I learnt as much, if not more from them, as they did from me!
Sunday January 30th.
Worked at Maidstone Christian Spiritualist Church, Tonbridge Road. It was a very warm welcome I received, and I was heartened to find there were a couple of dozen people there. Big improvement than latterly. There has been so much sickness around too! I received a round of applause at the end, which they tell me, has never happened before in their Church, so Spirit were definitely on form tonight!
Monday January 31st
Worked in Teynham, Sittingbourne, another great evening with lots of fun and laughter, one poor man will wonder if he's being watched whenever he does something over the next few days! I do so love it when Spirit peep around the edges of our lives! No secrets then! It of course is never hurtful, or harmful in any way, and all done with such a sense of fun!
Tuesday 1st February.
Oh dear! Another lady 'picked on' when Spirit told her they had seen her talking to 'Paul', she blushed, because apparently he'd asked her for a date! Another evening, miserably cold outside, but warm, and full of fun inside! That was at Herne Bay Spiritualist Church, Avenue Road, and we had a fabulous Chicken Kebab to round off the evening. I felt so good! Should lose a bit at Weight Watchers tomorrow!
Wednesday 2nd February.
Yes! I am half a pound lighter this week! Onwards and upwards!! On Sunday this week, I am on at Hythe Christian Spiritualist Church, I wonder if they will film me again!! See there website for details.
Monday 8th February.
On Saturday, I had my hair totally restyled! I am very happy with it, and it's lovely to have my curls back! They are all my own !
Monday October 10th
Last night I took the Divine Service in Hythe, it was an early one. 6pm. It was great to see a good number in the Congregation! Maybe things are beginning to look up(?) The Philosophy felt incredibly powerful, I am completely overshadowed at this time, and remember little of what is said, but I am always left with the most uplifting, joyful feeling. I love it, because of course it is the teaching that is so important. I know the Messages are the 'jewel in the crown', and that most people come for this aspect of the service, and quite rightly too! I just hope everyone is made to think, and take home something worthwhile!
How great it was to catch up with my special friend Mark Bucknall, (he's on F.B. and a very good Medium too!) He came to see me and watch me work! He took my latest profile picture with my new hairstyle!!!
It is now October 2011! Time, as they say, flies, and I am just back from a successful 'tour' of North and South Yorkshire, and Swadlincote Derbys which is near to Burton on Trent. That was interesting. I did a Charity evening with Marriana Hope Clarke, for a local Playschool and not many came, but we raised 130 pounds, which I thought was good, and everybody won a Raffle Prize! I came back with a huge Teddy, I called Linton, named for the Village Hall in which the event was held, and a lovely set of mugs with a different 'through the Window' scene on each! I was well pleased!
I have begun a Charity, along with Swadlincote Church and her President Mrs. Joan Hughes, called 'The Rainbow Bridge' . This is in aid of the elderly, or people perhaps in need or on Benefits to be able to pay for the upkeep of their present pet, re Injections, vets fees etc, Any monies raised will be paid to the vet concerned direct, or, after a visit from someone to ensure an animal will be taken care of then we will pay for an animal to be bought for the person concerned, again, those who could not otherwise afford one. We hope this way to help the community there, but also the local animal Rescue Centres! If you wish to know more, please contact me. Details on how to do so are on here
The wonderful thing was I watched my Aunt Olga and John Bonning (her husband) work at Charnwood Street Church in Derby on Sunday 2nd October. I was laughing and crying, because they are both in their 80's, not in very good health, and I doubt I will ever see them work again! Olga said 'Your Aunt Ev works with you', and I could not be more pleased or proud to think so!
Because I am a 5th Generation Medium, people are clamouring for me to write a book about our family and my experiences re Mediumship. I think I will have to think about it. All I have are word of mouth memories, and very few facts....Still it may be worth a go!
A NEW YEAR!
January 2012. Wednesday, January 18th.
It was my mother's 20th Anniversary on 14th January, and I only remembered as I was taking the Service at Hythe this Sunday gone, 15th Jan! It seems 2 minutes since she passed over, so it's a belated Happy Anniversary to my Mum!
2011 ended sadly for us. Our lovely dog Shona ,known as Boo, passed to Spirit, we knew before Christmas, so we made sure she had a very good Christmas, she went downhill very quickly over her last 3 days. She was an amazing dog, and a real comedienne! I miss her so much, but I know she is safe with all my other much loved pets in Spirit, I am sure they will be teaching her so much!Love you darling.
I have set a date for an Evening of Clairvoyance in aid of 'The Rainbow Bridge' It will be on Saturday June 30th, 7pm until 10pm, and I have secured 3 other Mediums to work with me on that Evening. There will be a Raffle, and Refreshments. Half the Proceeds will go to Swadlincote, to Joan Hughes, for help with vet fees etc there, and half will go to an animal Centre here near Dover where the event is being held. The other Mediums we have on board are Brenda Cottingham, Pauline Mason, and Josie and Trudy. Trudy is a Psychic Artist. I know, with your help, it will be great!
All Raffle prizes, and/or donations will be so much appreciated! If you can help in this way, please tel me on 01795 532055.
So the year began with Hythe, a great evening, around 40 in the Congregation, so heartening! This weekend, I am at Tenterden on Saturday, an Evening of Clairvoyance, and Sunday, the Divine Service at Herne Bay. Please see the calender for details.
On a personal note, I am painting in Acrylics right now. Have just finished a picture of a 'Butterfly bush', the Budliah, I am quite happy with it, but I think the background may detract a little as it is too busy I think! We shall have to see! I am working on an 'L' shaped painting, on a tall slim Canvas of Budliah again, Pink Hydrangea, and yellow Forsythia, this time on a soft yellow background. We shall see!
I have dropped one day a week at Del Artie, and I now just work there on a Tuesday.I think the Recession is badly affecting all Trade in Faversham, and, I suspect, Nationwide too!
I have a dream! It is that someone who is wealthy will see the quality of the work I do for Spirit, and will Promote me!! YAY! How wonderful that will be!!
Saturday 21st January, am off to work an Evening of Clairvoyance at Tenterden this evening, and Herne Bay tomorrow, the Divine Service. I am looking forward to these events.
Thursday, April 19th.
Well, since I last updated this, life has been gathering momentum! I was laid low with a nasty virus through February and into March, but I am certainly back to normal now! Spiritual work is 'gearing up now, and I am beginning to work full tilt! Please see the Calender for where I am and when.
We have taken the decision to introduce a new Member into our family during the coming October...another dog! She will be (hopefully!) a young Border Collie. I have a good friend up in Norrth Yorkshire, who has a Small Holding, and has bred Jacob Sheep, still does on a smaller level,, and rescued many horses into the bargain! It is a joy to visit, and next month I am staying with her for a couple of days, making a break in my busy scedule. The 'puppy'/young dog will come from her friend, she breeds working dogs, but there are often ones who are not happy to work the sheep, and hopefully, she will be one of these!
Another Highlight of this year is the Evening I am organising for June 30th, Saturday, with 4 other Mediums, one a Psychic artist, a Charity Evening, in Dover, Kent, for the care of dogs in a local Rescue Centre.....If you are local do come along, selling off (auctioning) a couple of animal paintings I have done too! 7.30pm. See Calender for details!
Well, here in Kent the blossom is coming out in the orchards, pear, apple and cherry, a little more sun, and it will be gorgeous. The bluebells are just showing, and Spring has arrived, but right now the weather has deteriorated! Sleet on Tuesday this week, my birthday, but very cold in the wind, so this week I have not been able to get out in the garden, although there is alot of 'pricking out' to do in the polytunnel. In February that flew away in the wind into the field beyond and landed in next doors garden thanks to the gales we tend to have down here! It was like an alien space ship, and I had to laugh, we were lucky, the poles were intact, the cover ripped to shreds, but we replaced that, it is back up..and housing my precious tomato plants and other 'babies', and hopefully(!) it will stay upright and secure!
Off on Monday to North Yorkshire, staying with good friends, then moving on to the Midlands. I am looking forward to this.
On Saturday last, I did an Aura/Colour evening. It went down very well, and from this have been asked to do a Workshop! I do LOVE my work! I am so happy and privileged to do what I do, and to Be who I am! See you soon!.....
October 22nd 2012.
It is a while since I made a contribution on here for what has been another very busy year, there are several ideas in the pipeline. I have a friend shortly moving back to Scotland, and she is now promoting my work as best she can, and is arranging venues for me to work Nortrh of the Border...exciting! Another idea I have is to take a hall once a month locally, and put on an Evening of Clairvoyance, plus a Rafdfle, 1st prize a free Reading with myself, and see if we can bring in more interest in Mediumship.
For over 30 years I ran development Circles, and now we are concentrating on Physical Mediumship, our Circle, now seems far more settled, and we are experiencing wonderful phenomena, and last Friday received an Apport of a Mint condition 1p piece! Can't help wondering if it was a bribe to keep me at home more so we sit more frequently! It is Halloween for us this Friday, so candles, pumpkins and toffee apples meet the Sitters and Spirit too!!
A PLEA AIMED AT SPIRITUALIST CHURCHES.
I am very tired of subsidising you! This is a Beef and a plea! I have worked in many Churches over the years. When I first served Churches, I would often serve for nothing, locally, and for very little further afield. Many of you are fair and do not quibble when I ask for more the £20, but there are those of you who set a ceiling of £20 for a Divine, and £30 for a Clairvoyant Evening, well now, I am saying NO! Especially when I have undertaken a journey of 2 or 3 hours, or sat for hours bumper to bumper whilst travelling to the Capitol or other places further afield. Many of you have stopped asking me, you consider me 'too expensive' but I ask what we put in our car for the journey, and when it is a Clairvoyant Evening you charge anything from £2 to £7 per head, and quite often their are many bottoms on seats! I feel it is reasonable to base a figure on the numbers attending these events, to charge a reasonable amount, because I know you profit from these Evenings. I understand you have expenses, overheads and repairs to maintain and the upkeep of the fabric of the building, but surely good Mediums are worthy of their hire? PLEASE consider we too have overheads and expenses. Yes, we can earn from Private Sittings, but their are some who give me £6 for a half hour Reading, and £5 for a Workshop per head... a day of my time and my many years experience and knowledge, I say again No! No longer will I accept these terms.
We also travel away for my work, and again, not all but some of these travels mean we have to find, and pay for our accommodation and food, we say it's a holiday, but for me, in truth, it is not! No longer do Churches pull together, as they did at one time, and host a Medium, and share the expenses. This makes sense to me, but recently a Church told me,'Oh no, we are not sharing you, you are too good, we want you for ourselves!' Madness! Or completely misunderstood!
I am now making a stand, if you want good Mediums you need to review your terms and conditions. I HATE feeling I have to barter for my Services, surely we are worthy of our Hire? My husband is the wage earner in our family, and he works in the Caring Services, and will retire in 2 years. He subsidises you, more than you will ever realise, and his Salary is not commensurate. If you insist also on only taking Local Mediums, I feel your congregations, that are often quite sparse will become even sparser...the same old, same old will drive them away. I am making some strong statements here, but it is an issue you need to address I feel.I make no apologies.
I must add their are many of you who are fair, and happy to pay the requirement, I stress again, I do not charge ridiculous amounts, but it really is a responsibility you need to address.
On a lighter note! Since my dog passed away in December I have not felt ready to consider another addition...now I am actively seeking a young lady dog to come and be rescued, and enter our lives and rescue us from the very determined efforts of a very indulged, very spoilt cat, who is detrmined to, and does rule the roost in our house! I have been browsing all the recue sites, and hope we have a new family member by Christmas...I am sure their is one who is destined and meant for us!
In July I was privileged to raise £200 for a local dog Rescue Centre near Dover, along with Josie and Trudy (Psychic Artist) and Brenda Cottingham an excellent local Medium, £100 of this we raised by auctioning off 4 of my paintings, and a couple of prints of horses done by an Artist friend of mine.
Whilst recently in the Midlands I took a Commission of Doves over a globe for Swadlincote Church, it now has pride of place there, and I have been asked to do another 2 from this one if you take my meaning!!!. I hope very much to do more of these in the future.
My plans now include holding an Evening of Clairvioyance in a local Hall once a month, and doing a Raffle, including a free Reading with me as a prize. I have a friend from Scotland who is also promoting me and helping my work, she wants to put Venues on in Halls etc. for me North of the Border...exciting times ahead I think!
28th January 2013.
I am delighted to tell you, we have a new addition to our household! A Puppy who we have named Tegan...it is a Celtic name and means 'Blessed and Beautiful' Tegan came to us on October 19th last year at 9 weks of age, and is now almost 5 months of age, she is a beautiful tri coloured Border Collie, taken from a Rescue Centre near where I live, called 'Happy Endings', and later on, in the Spring I hope to do an Evening similar to the last one I did in Dover for animals, and I am already painting away busily, working on Angels at the moment, for I am given to understand they sell very well! Once again, anything and everything we raise will go to this remarkable Centre, who house, cats, dogs, horses, birds sheep, cows, and all sorts of lost abandoned Creatures. I admire them enormously, but will always be indebted for bringing Tegan into my life.
...and here she is!! She has grown so much since we fetched her home! In this one you can see her grinning! She laughs most of the time!
Anyway, enough of puppy obsession! The work is progressing, and I seem to be doing more work from home than I have done in an age! At the moment I am catching up with myself and updating my website...always a 'work in progress!
Christmas was very quiet, as was our New Year, but I feel 2013 will be full of good things...quite what, I am unsure! Nontheless I feel certain it is so.
This is how winter is for me! Everything just resting below the surface, waiting to Spring back into life again...Spring really is just round the corner!
April 2nd 2013.
April already! Wow! Well, Tegan has grown, and is now a big girl, she has been spayed, just last week, and her stitches come out on Friday! She is a joy, and loves to bring half the garden into the house for our enjoyment!!! Then she barks at the Hoover!!
I have now started doing Readings by e-mail and Skype with intent! I have had some very positive feed back, and I am thrilled. My pay pal account is up and running, and I feel connected and on my way...It is a very good feeling...
Easter is over..all bar the shouting, and the Country remains in the grip of a protracted cold spell, hope we all unfreeze soon! I have eaten far too much chocolate! Back on the wagon from tomorrow, not looking forward to weigh in at Slimming World tomorrow!!!
I am feeling excited about the future!...
